Welcome to the website of Luton Labour Party

The Labour Party is a democratic socialist party.
We believe that by the strength of our common endeavor we achieve more than we achieve alone, so as to create for each
of us the means to realise our true potential and for all of us a community in which power, wealth and opportunity are in the
hands of the many, not the few.

A message from Hazel Simmons, Leader of Luton Labour Group

    Hazel

Labour won back control of Luton Borough Council in May 2007 from the Lib Dems and Tories and Hazel is the first woman to lead the council.
Hazel says: In that Lib Dem Tory period, redevelopment stalled, council tax rocketed, schools closed and our town's momentum was lost. Since 2007, we have worked hard to clear up the mess the Lib Dems left behind. We have reversed some of their cuts and taken measures to help both the young and the elderly of our town. The building work for Luton's olympic swimming pool is underway and it will be open in 2012.
Now they are in government, the Lib Dems are making a mess once again. They are the ones who are tripling tuition fees, cancelling our school rebuilds and slashing the public services that we all rely on. Before the election they said they would do the opposite.
On May 5th they are asking you to give them the keys to the Town Hall once again. I urge you not to do that. I urge you to vote Labour.
